Well this is my first post.......this is all pretty new to me, both the 'blog' and the music. I never had any form of training in music but have pretty much spent my entire life making up tunes and whistling them! I decided about 2 years ago to put them down and so taught myself how to play the piano, albeit at a level where I could make sense of my 'tunes' and play what I was actually whistling! Since then, I have written a whole bunch (fifty-odd at the last count) but suffer from 'new idea, new tune, new lyrics' syndrome when halfway through another one! The downside is I have to try and discipline myself into finishing each one before starting the next. The upside is I end up with a whole lot of, albeit unfinished, material.

At the end of the day, I enjoy it!

After a while it becomes compulsive. I've managed 62 sets of very diverse lyrics since last August, at least half of which have a tune too (mostly not provided by me, I have to say). No inclination to slow down either; the upshot being, while you're on a roll just go with the flow;-)
