I am working on 3 new songs at the moment. The first, called '35', is proving to be a bit tricky as it only seems to sound ok with just a piano at the moment.....the second, called 'Life on Mars' is a bit more heavy and the third, called 'change' keeps, well, changing. Ironic really! I hope to have all 3 finished in the next couple of weeks. As always, struggling with my makeshift studio...an old Apple Mac, a keyboard and a stage mic.....need more gear!

Hi
Just to add some cheap friendly advise. You write the songs, not your equipment. I'm one of those who used to buy more and more equipment thinking it would make everything better but then just get bogged down with it all - which takes your eye off the/your primary objective of writing great songs. So now I ditched it all and bought an iMac last year and run Logic Pro 8. The only other plugin I have bought was NI Akoustik Piano (which was before I had Logic 8 - if i had known there is a decent set of Pianos in L8 I wouldn't have wasted my money). I'm always looking around thinking I need to buy Stylus RMX for flexible drum loops, Virtual Guitarist to cheat my guitar tracks and as many soft synth as I can buy. Trouble is - all these need time to learn to use and explore, which is time better spent writing new songs. Plus the fact Apple went and released a new iMac model last August for cheaper ! ! ! I'm not bitter - too much ;-)
Seriously though - concentrate on your songs - not the technology. Sometimes better to go to a studio and pay for a day or two. However - keep up the good work and keep on following your dream. The tide will turn eventually.
